A PAUSE FOR SEVERAL DAYS

One man alone can be pretty dumb sometimes, but for real bona fide stupidity, there ain't nothin' can beat teamwork       Edward Abbey

The above quote by Mr Abbey relates well to "THE CREW" . Five police officers of duplicitous conduct.

Deliberative actions and their proximity and foundational relationship to Arthur R Loevy launching  his belated  legal machinations -    suing  police and the FBI  will - in future postings  - be enlightened upon.

This format of BLOG writing comes forth in segments -  columns if you will -  for the reader to digest and review.

Many have urged that I write a book and that might well be in the offing - for during my lifetime in the police profession no other has been my peer.

The four years of being with Dick Ogilvie was akin to a soldier who had been in the Army thirty years  who spent four of those years marching -  advancing through Africa, to Anzio beachhead and landing on the shores of Normandy , proceeding  to " the hood" in Berlin.

The four years with the man who prosecuted Tony Accardo as U S District  Attorney General for Organized Crime in  the Midwestern Region of the United States were unique in policing history. Four years of quite a street education for myself.

Richard B Ogilvie
Dick Ogilvie went on to become  Governor of the State of Illinois

The organized crime fighting experiences with Ogilvie -  when Sheriff of Cook County -  led to my founding the police union   that I led for over thirty two years - retiring in 2000 after the onslaught of two distinct major operations for bladder cancer.

The actions of  police officers aligned with me in the embryonic years - some for the good and some for the bad -  established police unionization in the United States.

Writing  to John J Flood's  BLOG  will be put off for several days. Personal commitments to be addressed.

This site will become of interest to the public, law enforcement officers and those concerned with organized crime and public and private sector  unions. Especially the historic formation of police unions in the United States  and their ongoing performance and state of affairs

There  is a great deal of history leading to present day events.

All will be related in a day to day format of writing.

Thoughts might wander- appear disjointed to a first read - but most  will make sense to the reader  in time and review.

Incisive commentary will be put forth from a very unique personal perspective of living.
